Over the twelve months period to July 2024, the nominal Pula exchange rate depreciated by 2.6 percent against the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR) and 0.1 percent against the South African rand. With respect to the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula depreciated by 3.8 percent against the US dollar, 3.7 percent against the British pound, 2.6 percent against the Chinese renminbi and 2.1 percent against the euro, while it appreciated by 3.7 percent against the Japanese yen.

The Pula depreciated by 0.1 percent each against the South African rand and the SDR over the one-month period to July 2024. It depreciated by 4.3 percent against the Japanese yen, 0.8 percent against the British pound and 0.4 percent against the euro, while it appreciated by 0.8 percent against the US dollar and remained relatively stable against the Chinese renminbi.
