Over the one-month period to March 2026, the Pula appreciated by 2.8 percent against the South African rand but depreciated by 3.2 percent the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR). During the review period, the Pula depreciated by 4.5 percent against the US dollar, 3.6 percent against the Chinese renminbi, 2.6 percent against the British pound, 2.2 percent against the Japanese yen and 1.7 percent against the against the euro.

Meanwhile, year-on-year to March 2026, the Pula depreciated by 4.5 percent against the South African rand and 0.2 percent against the SDR. Against SDR constituent currencies, the Pula depreciated 3.8 percent against the euro and 3 percent against the Chinese renminbi. However, it appreciated by 9.2 percent against the Japanese yen and 1.8 percent against the US dollar but remained relatively stable against the British pound.
