Over the twelve months period to December 2024, the nominal Pula exchange rate depreciated by 2.4 percent against the South African rand and 0.8 percent against the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR). With respect to the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula depreciated by 3.8 percent against the US dollar, 2.1 percent against the British pound and 0.7 percent against the Chinese renminbi, while it appreciated by 6.4 percent against the Japanese yen and 2.4 percent against the euro.
The Pula appreciated by 1.5 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 1.4 percent against the SDR over the one-month period to December 2024. It depreciated by 2.4 percent against the US dollar, 1.3 percent against the Chinese renminbi, 1.1 percent against British pound and 0.8 percent against the euro, while it appreciated by 1.6 percent against Japanese yen.
