The Pula appreciated by 0.3 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 0.5 percent against the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR), over the one-month period to November 2023. The local currency depreciated by 3.1 percent against the British pound, 2.1 percent against the euro, 1.4 percent against Chinese renminbi and 0.8 percent against the Japanese yen, while it appreciated by 1.4 percent against the US dollar.
Over the twelve months period to November 2023, the nominal Pula exchange rate appreciated by 4.9 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 6.6 percent against the SDR. Against the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula depreciated by 10.4 percent British pound, 10.3 percent against the euro, 5.1 percent against the Chinese renminbi and 4.9 percent against the US dollar, while it appreciated by 1 percent against Japanese yen.
