The Pula appreciated by 0.1 percent against the South African rand

The Pula appreciated by 0.1 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 0.4 percent and the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR), over the one-month period to January 2024. It depreciated by 1.6 percent against the US dollar, 0.9 percent against the British pound and 0.2 percent against the Chinese renminbi, while it appreciated by 3 percent against the Japanese yen and 0.7 percent against the euro. 

Over the twelve months period to January 2024, the nominal Pula exchange rate appreciated by 1.9 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 4.2 percent against the SDR. Against the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula depreciated by 8.1 percent against the British pound, 5.7 percent against the US dollar and 5.5 percent against the euro, while it appreciated by 7 percent against the Japanese yen and 0.4 percent against the Chinese renminbi.
