The Pula appreciated by 0.1 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 0.5 percent against the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR) over the one-month period to July 2022. It depreciated by 3.6 percent against the Japanese yen, 1.5 percent against the British pound, 1 percent against the US dollar and 0.3 percent against the Chinese renminbi, while it appreciated by 1.1 percent against the euro.

Over the twelve months period to July 2022, the nominal Pula exchange rate depreciated by 4.6 percent against the SDR and 0.6 percent against the South African rand. Against the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula depreciated by 11.5 percent against the US dollar and 7.7 percent against the Chinese renminbi, while it appreciated by 7 percent against the Japanese yen, 2.6 percent against the euro and 1 percent against the British pound.
