Following the earlier announcement on July 30 that a new family of banknotes was to be introduced, the new notes were formally launched today by His Excellency the President. The notes will enter circulation on Sunday, August 23 (Pula Day, the same day that the national currency was originally launched in 1976); however, for logistical reasons they will not be available from banks until August 24. The public is urged to become familiar with the features of the new notes.
