The Pula depreciated by 0.7 percent against the South African rand and appreciated by 0.1 percent against the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR) over the one-month period to August 2020. The Pula appreciated against most of the SDR constituent currencies; it appreciated by 1.6 percent against the Japanese yen, 0.4 percent against the US dollar and 0.3 percent against the euro, while it depreciated by 1.6 percent against the Chinese renminbi and 1.1 percent against the British pound.

Over the twelve months period to August 2020, the nominal Pula exchange rate appreciated by 5.2 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 6.4 percent against the SDR. Against the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula depreciated by 11.3 percent against the British pound, 10 percent against the euro, 7 percent against the Chinese renminbi, 3.5 percent against the Japanese yen and 2.9 percent against the US dollar.
