The Pula appreciated by 1.7 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 1.8 percent against the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR) over the one-month period to January 2021. The Pula depreciated against all the SDR constituent; it depreciated by 2.9 percent against the Chinese renminbi, 2.8 percent against the British pound, 2.3 percent against the US dollar, 1 percent against the Japanese yen and 0.8 percent against the euro.

Over the twelve months period to January 2021, the nominal Pula exchange rate appreciated by 1.5 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 5.6 percent against the SDR. Against the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula depreciated by 10.1 percent against the euro, 8.5 percent against the Chinese renminbi, 5.7 percent against the British pound, 5.4 percent against the Japanese yen and 1.3 percent against the US dollar.
