The Protective Services Division undertakes a wide range of activities to ensure the safety of the Bank's assets, information and staff, as well as that of visitors to the Bank. This necessitates both the enforcement of internal security procedures and liaison with other security and emergency services in Botswana and internationally. As well as physical security, the Division helps spearhead the Bank's efforts at counterfeit prevention. Staff in the Division receive regular training in relevant security techniques.
As well as providing physical security, staff in the Division are part of the public face of the Bank, welcoming visitors at the receptions, and escorting them to and from their appointments. To help ensure an efficient service, visitors to the Bank are requested to provide adequate advance notice, so that the Security staff can make necessary arrangements.
The Division is headed by a Security Conrtoller assisted by two Chief Security Officers.
